Academy Sports+Outdoors and Belk were named finalists in the 2020 Cynopsis Sports Media Awards. Now in its ninth year, the annual awards program honors and showcases the best work in the sports industry.
Academy was nominated in the Marketing Initiative category for its Academy Tailgate Chair Tour that features an immersive activation footprint highlighted by a two giant Tailgate Chairs. The tour visited games and events across the sports landscape including college football and college baseball, the NFL, MLB, sports award shows and the Bassmaster Classic.
Belk was nominated in the category of Awareness Campaign for a Social Good Initiative. This past year, Belk extended its Project Hometown charitable initiative to its SEC partnership by featuring organizations within the conference footprint that strengthen and support communities and the local heroes who were tied to SEC schools.
The winners will be announced during an awards breakfast on April 23rd at the New York Athletic Club.
